Marit is a young Norwegian show jumper living in Holland. She has been riding from the age of four and her competitive and spirited determination has brought her to where she is today: a professional rider working and competing fulltime. Marit´s journey has not all been plain sailing and due to the financial strain of the sport she has been reliant purely on skill to win places working with professionals. She has been working with Jan Auen Hisskjold for 4 years and in recent years with Leon Thijssen. Both of them have meant a great deal in Marit´s career, and have supported and guided her. Leon Thijssen, who has worked hard from nothing to becoming an incredibly successful and talented competitor, has particularly inspired her. Marit is a tried and tested rider and as such has some great advice to give young riders that are in a similar position. “Keep working.” She tells them. “Good things come to people that work hard. If you really want to, you can make it happen.” Marit is living her dream and hopes that one day she may ride for her homeland, Norway in the Nations Cup.
Good things come to people that work hard. If you really want to, you can make it happen.”
