A straight Mullen Pelham is great for leverage and added control but with a softer rubber mouthpiece.
Straight rubber-covered Pelham bit includes a curb chain in stainless steel. Can be used with Pelham straps for a single rein or two traditional reins. The straight, rubber mouthpiece is ideal for novice riders when a stronger bit is required but caution is still required to protect the horse's sensitive mouth.
Thickness: 21mm. C.L: 127mm. Cheek Shank 5 1/4".
Always wash a bit after each ride. Remove from bridle and soak in hot water. Use small brush to remove residue. Dry with clean towel.

I wanted to buy one for my little donkey (1m15) because I can not find others in 105 mm but the barrel is much too thick. It should be sold in stainless steel with fine barrel, it is very complicated to find.
the Pelham is not made of soft rubber; but rigid rubber! this does not respect the description of the product!
Good bite in itself at very good price. Real and durable, it fulfills its function. The only downside is that the rod is way too thick, my horse almost has to go and gape with it in my mouth.
This is NOT a soft rubber bit, it is a hard rubber bit. Otherwise it's very well made, so I'm keeping it. But I don't want others to make the same mistake I made. There is nothing soft about it.
just bought one :-) am looking forward to using it on my pony ;-) now it is not because i need to use it for jumping but need to use it for picnic and when my pony is stiff :-)
