If you want to lunge your horse, you will like to use a lunging girth. Its many rings give you various possibilities to support your horse with auxiliary reins or lunging aids. The lunging girth runs around the horse's back and belly and is also a first step in training young horses to get them used to a saddle later on. The lunging girth usually consists of two parts, similar to a saddle girth. The strap running along the horse's belly can be adjusted on both sides.

The rings which can be found in different positions on a lunging girth allow you to buckle different types of auxiliary reins and thus optimally support your horse in its ground work. Lunging girths are available in many different variations. If the girth is lined with synthetic fur, you can place it directly on the horse's back, because the synthetic fur prevents chafing. If your horse is prone to chafing, you should use a lunging pad for a girth without synthetic fur. This is adapted to the shape of the lunging girth and cushions any pressure and chafing points. Alternatively, you can also use a saddle pad.
